Welcome to the fight for Liberty!
Our mission is to enable a sense of community for members who love the United States of America, the governing Constitution, liberty, individual rights and freedom. Our desire is to inform members regarding the Constitution and key issues (city/state/national level) so that they can make informed decisions and communicate with other citizens. We provide and support ways for members to exercise their rights as citizens. We assist members in taking an active role in our government by enabling their voices to be heard by our elected officials.
Our Liberty Group does not promote a political party, and will not disparage elected officials in public. We will actively endorse candidates who demonstrate their support for the values represented in the Constitution . We will actively work to change or defeat issues that run counter to the Constitution and American values.
Clayton Englewood Libert Group Meeting
July 29th - We have a strong agenda for our meeting this Thursday, July 29th. Location: Holiday Inn Englewood. Time: 7pm - 9pm
This will be the first in a series of Bill of Rights focused meetings. Thursday we will address the 1st and 2nd amendments.
A local pastor will discuss the 1st amendment and the implications of current and emerging policies on our rights to free speech and freedom of religion.
A representative from an Ohio based firearms manufacturer will discuss the 2nd amendment, current attacks on our rights to keep and bear arms and the implications for gun owners.
We will also discuss the billboard advertisements that CELG will be purchasing. These will be prominent locations as you enter into Clayton. We will need your financial support to make this happen - but it is an excellent way to bring attention to our cause and get people motivated to learn more. We have to reach as many people as possible. The message we will convey is consistent with our mission of "educate, enlighten and engage" and therefore will not be a negative attack. More information on where to send your financial support will be forthcoming.
These are exciting times. We are trying hard to bring you the information you need to help get our community engaged, so we ask you to please come to the meetings and bring someone along

What is a Liberty Group?
The Clayton Englewood Liberty Group is a chapter of The Dayton Tea Party. The Dayton Tea Party's vision of encouraging local citizen awareness and participatory involvement in all levels of government has led to the creation of what are now known as Liberty Groups. These Liberty Groups (see links at left) have been established in various communities around the Miami Valley.
Liberty Groups are local citizens, residing in urban, suburban, or rural communities, who come from varied economic backgrounds, occupations, and political persuasions.
The Goals of Liberty Groups and the Dayton Tea Party are as follows:
1) Respect for the Constitution and Bill of Rights
2) Smaller, responsive government
3) Fiscal responsibility on all levels of government
4) Support of the free market system and small business
Core Beliefs
1) We love the United States of America
2) We love American Freedom, as defined by the Bill of Rights in the Constitution
3) We reject hate and bitterness in our hearts, thoughts and actions. We refuse to insult, mock, ridicule or demonize politicians or their parties.
4) We understand that our mission is to overcome bad ideas, not people or parties. We commit ourselves to refuting and defeating any idea that seeks to restrict, undermine, diminish, erode or curtail ndividual liberty as defined by the Bill of Richts in the Constitution.
5) We will not become entangled in arguments or causes that will distract us from our core mission of upholding and defending individual liberty.
6) We will, at all times, live in such a way that we will only bring credit to our cause.
7) We will share freely our core beliefs with others and will reach out to those that do not yet see their value.
8) We believe that our pursuit of "Politics without Partisanship" will change the tenor of political conversation from one of rancor and bitterness to one of cooperation and common good.

Writing Letters to Your Representatives
Whether you AGREE or DISAGREE with the way your elected official is representing you, the BEST way to get their attention and let them know where you stand, is to send them a letter. Here are a few helpful rules along with mailing information for local area congressmen and senators. Hand write the letter. Use a friendly tone. Be clear and concise.
